We are very proud of our long-standing partnerships with local animal rescues. Here are a few of the Animal Care Charities we support:
These charities rely on public support to help them do their vital work. Please be generous.
The Okanagan Humane Society is a registered charity that is committed to helping the pet population through education and by assisting low income families with the cost of spaying and neutering their pet. The Shuswap Veterinary Clinic is pleased to assist the Okanagan Humane Society with its important mission.
Shuswap Veterinary Clinic is a proud supporter of the Shuswap Branch of the B.C. S.P.C.A. They work extremely hard to find loving homes for the homeless dogs and cats in their care. Each adoption at the Shuswap S.P.C.A. comes with a free examination from the Shuswap Veterinary Clinic. If you are considering pet adoption, please take advantage of the S.P.C.A.’s services.
Freedom’s Gate Equine Rescue Society is a registered non-profit, charitable society operating in the Salmon Arm region of BC. Freedom’s Gate is an equine rescue where horses can come to decompress, get the health care they need, receive training and find their forever home. All donations to the rescue support the care of horses.
Since 1999, the Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge Society has been rescuing and looking after these loveable animals, who can live to be 50 years old. The Shuswap Veterinary Clinic makes regular visits to the Refuge to help keep the donkeys healthy. Click here for directions to the refuge.
Our Veterinarians’ Favourite Web Sites:

An excellent overview of small animal vaccination protocols.
Okanagan Pet Cremation has been helping Shuswap Veterinary Clinic clients with their pet loss needs for over 15 years. They offer private and communal cremation in a peaceful, rural setting.
When the time comes, the Shuswap Veterinary Clinic staff can help you choose an appropriate memorial urn or other item for your beloved pet, or you can view their web site for a selection of available urns.
